40,000+ lives touched through Quick Heal Foundation’s advanced mobile clinic in flood-hit areas of Bihar

March 21st, 2022: The calamity of floods in Bihar is an annual saga posing several challenges like waterlogging spread of waterborne diseases and is also the cause of migration of thousands of stranded people. Natural calamities always have a direct co-relation with poverty, unemployment, and lack of primary health care facilities – responsible for lack of economic and social security amongst the populace.

In Bihar, over 80 villages near Patna &Gopalganj districts are under flood dangers looking for respite from the rising challenge of diseases and lack of PHCs. Due to lack of proper healthcare access, minor health issues result in severe conditions over a period.

To address the issue, Quick Heal Foundation – the CSR arm of Quick Heal Technologies, volunteered to donate a full-fledged Mobile Clinic, “Arogya Yan,” to BirsaSevaPrakalp, an NGO in the Pataliputra area of Patna.

BirsaSevaPrakalp is a renowned NGO working on the ground to improve children’s education women’s empowerment through skill development and offer health and human services for relief during floods and other natural calamities.

The donation ceremony was done on March 7, 2022, at 5 PM at Lallu Nagar, near Patliputra Junction, JagatVihar Colony, Rukanpura, Patna, Bihar. The ceremony was done in the presence of Shree KameshwarChaupal – Trustee from BirsaSevaPrakalp NGO and Shree Keshava Raju Akkarpu – Zonal organizational secretory, Bihar – Jharkhand.

Equipped with essential healthcare facilities, Quick Heal’sArogya Yan is a state-of-the-art mobile clinic on the wheels designed to improve healthcare services in Patna &Gopalganj districts and nearby flood-hit areas. It will help transport patients and doctors from far-flung regions and provide timely treatments during golden hours and other emergencies.

The mobile clinic will serve over 40,000 people, especially women, girls, and children in the Pataliputra area who otherwise rely on the nearest PHCs, which are not accessible in most cases. These hospitals are situated very far or have little to no healthcare facilities.

Quick Heal’sArogya Yan will be a boon for migrants facing challenges in accessing healthcare facilities. They can now get primary health care in a clean and hygienic ambiance, routine check-ups to treat acute waterborne diseases, get the right diagnosis at the right time, and immediate treatments.

Due to lack of basic healthcare facilities, the lives of these villages turns upside down during heavy rains and waterlogging. All these factors affect the probability of a patient’s survival, which inspired us to introduce primary healthcare facilities through swiftly movable mobile clinic. We are sure that our Arogya Yan will play an important role in improving the lives of the rural people and encourage them to tackle challenging situations like floods and perilous waterborne diseases.”
