AgNext join forces with the government for the integration of agritech services with the electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM)

This critical empanelment program will allow over 17.6 registered farmers to utilize the online platform and sell their produce directly to buyers of their choice

New Delhi: 28th July 2022: AgNext Technologies, one of India’s leading agritech companies, has been officially integrated with the government of India’s empanelment program. The government recently announced the integration of agritech services provided by AgNext with its electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM). This stellar move will enable farmers to use the online platform for selling their produce directly to buyers of their choice.

This state-of-the-art platform will enable more than 17.6 million registered farmers, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), traders, commission agents and other stakeholders that are registered with the eNAM platform to directly avail these advanced tech-services provided by private enterprises like AgNext.

The Platform of Platforms under e-NAM aims to promote trade & marketing of agricultural produce wherein farmers will be facilitated to sell the produce outside their state borders. This will increase farmers’ digital access to multiple markets, buyers and service providers and bring transparency in business transactions by improving price search mechanism and quality commensurate price realization.

Addressing the occasion, Mr Taranjeet Singh Bhamra, the CEO and Founder of AgNext Technologies, said,” AgNext’s integration with eNAM PoP will enable farmers & traders to conduct rapid digital quality assaying of food commodities right at the Mandi / Warehouse point. They can now assess both physical & chemical parameters of food using computer vision / NIR Spectroscopy technology and get real-time quality reports. With 100% visibility of procured quality, stakeholders can now ensure transparent, fair & quality assured trade right from the farmgate. This will not just help improve trade efficiency with standardized, untampered & digital data records but also builds buyer-seller trust at different intersection points. Our integration with e-NAM will make us another step closer to building a faster, safer & fairer agri-ecosystem and ensuring quality food for billions.”

Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar formally launched the e-NAM platform-of-platforms in a bid to enhance online trade and ensure better price discovery by the platform. According to an official with Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), which operates the eNAM, the aim behind this integration of platforms by private players under e-NAM is to make available end-to-end services to farmers along with providing a platform for price discovery.

Currently, 1,000 mandis in 22 states and Union territories have been integrated into the e-NAM platform, which was launched in April 2016. At present, 17.3 million farmers, 2100 FPOs, 0226 million traders and around 0.1 million commission agents are registered with e-NAM.
