Bengaluru Tech Summit to attract delegations from 30 countries

NEW DELHI, 19th October 2022 | A team led by Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, Hon’ble Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Science and Technology, Higher Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Government of Karnataka held a roadshow in New Delhi, as part of the upcoming 25th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2022.
The Dept of Electronics, IT, Bt, S&T, Government of Karnataka along with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is organising the 25th edition of Asia’s largest Tech Summit which will be held physically from November 16th to 18th 2022 at the iconic Bangalore Palace with the central theme ‘Tech4NexGen’ and will focus on Electronics, IT, Deep Tech, Biotech as well as other Futuristic technologies such as Web3.0, Metaverse, NFT.

The roadshow was also graced by the presence of Dr. E. V. Ramana Reddy, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, Bt and S&T, Government of Karnataka, Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, Software Technology Parks of India, Smt. Meena Nagaraj, IAS, Director, Department of Electronics, IT and Bt & Managing Director, KITS Government of Karnataka and Shri Shailendra Tyagi, Director, Software Technology Parks of India Bengaluru and Shri Jagdish Patankar of MM Activ the Event Curators.

Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan interacted with industry leaders and heads of industry bodies on diverse topics like vision for USD 1 trillion digital economy, Karnataka’s leadership in nurturing Start up ecosystem, Future of GCCs, creating Talent pool, Skilling and making India global supply centre in diverse sectors. The roadshow also witnessed a presentation on Karnataka – The Innovation Hub by Smt. Meena Nagaraj, MD, KITS.

BTS 2022 this year will consist of multi-track Conference on IT & Electronics, Deep Tech, Start-Ups & Biotech and Global Innovation Alliance consisting of over 16 country sessions as well as India USA Tech conclave. Over 350 domain experts from over 30 countries will address 70+ Sessions attracting 5000 business delegates. The other highlights include International Exhibition, STPI IT Export Awards, Smart Bio Awards, Bengaluru Impact Award to new Unicorns, National Rural IT Quiz, Bio Quiz and Bio Posters. The Summit will also witness the inauguration of the interactive Science Gallery Bengaluru that aims to bring Science back into Culture.

There are many Future technologies being discussed at the Conference. In ITE & Deep Tech Track focus is on AI, Hybrid Cloud, 5G, Edge Computing, Fintech, ESG, Spacetech, Electronics & Semiconductor manufacturing, EV & Mobility, AVGC whereas Start-Up Track talks about Digital Public Goods, Fin Tech, Robotics, Women in Tech, Capital beyond VCs, Social Entrepreneurship, grassroot innovation while Biotech Track concentrates on Genomics, BioPharma, Gene Editing and Agriculture, One Health, Genomic Medicine, Bio Industrial, Bio Energy, Cell & Gene Therapy, Big Data in Drug Discovery and Bioinvesting.

BTS 2022 Conference will also see Plenary Sessions from most prolific minds. Some of these includes Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Laureate for CRISPER Technology, Prof. Ajay K Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to Government of India, Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President Nasscom, Dr. Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Aarin Capital, Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Director, CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI) and Shri S. As a part of landmark 25th year celebration, BTS 2022 will also have CEO Felicitation of 35 companies from ITE & Biotech who have completed 25+years of service in Bengaluru.

Global Innovation Alliance is another unique initiative where Karnataka is collaborating with many leading nations of the world. 16 Partner countries like France, Australia, Canada, Finland, Denmark, South Korea, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Lithuania, etc. will be conducting sessions and many are participating with their Ministerial level delegations representing Government, Industry, Research & Academic Institutes and Start-Ups. They will hold B2B and G2G meetings and explore the new areas of collaboration.

The Exhibition at BTS 2022 will be grand showcase of ITE & Biotech majors, Country Pavilions, 300 start-ups to be watched, Lab2Market display of India’s premier R&D institutes, STPI pavilion of its members from across India, Metaverse pavilion, Electronics pavilion, Biotech Pavilion and over 100 Bio Posters by Young Researchers.

The specially designed jaw dropping Museum of Future Technologies will be a major attraction and all in all over 50,000 tech enthusiasts and business fraternity from across India will visit the Expo over the three days. This pavilion experience is conceived as a future port where as you move forward you witness the evolution of tech that will lead you into a Futuristic Spaceship.

STPI IT Export Awards is one of the star attractions of Tech Summit for over two decades. These are in recognition of excellent export performance and contribution to the sector in 10
different categories.

The National level Rural IT Quiz and National Biotech Quiz held under BTS event have truly become another major platform to nurture and showcase the talent of youth from across India.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, Hon’ble Minister said, “We are proud to host silver jubilee edition of Tech Summit. It is the longest running event ever since it was inaugurated by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1998 and has become the global tech event from India attracting largest gathering of Industry, R&D and Startups. We are inviting all the States of India and Innovation clusters to participate in this event and benefit from it.“ He also added, “A strong focus on Education & Skilling and nurturing R&D ecosystem will be the key to the success of Karnataka and India’s leadership in the coming decade. He also highlighted that Karnataka is focusing on emerging innovation clusters like Hubballi-Dharwad-Belagavi, Mangaluru
and Mysuru.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, Software Technology Parks of India said, “STPI has been a long and proud partner of Tech summit since its inception and this year more than 60 STPI Member companies will take part in the Exhibition under STPI Pavilion. We will also be felicitating the achievers under various categories in STPI IT Export
Awards function.”

Dr. E V Ramana Reddy, IAS was the first Director of IT, Bt 25 years ago when the Tech Summit was incepted as IT.com and he is now leading the 25th edition. Speaking on the occasion he said that “Karnataka is hosting two significant events, Global Investors Meet and Bengaluru Tech Summit in the month of November and the tremendous response from all the stakeholders is testimony to the Industry friendly policies of the State government and most attractive ecosystem that continues to keep Karnataka at the forefront as the most preferred destination.“
