CHIEF MINISTER OF SIKKIM PREM SINGH TAMANG INAUGURATES JIO TRUE 5G IN GANGTOK

New Delhi, April 10 2023: Jio expands the footprint of True 5G services in Sikkim by launching in Gangtok, expanding its reach across every state of the nation. Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang announced this launch in Gangtok.

Jio demonstrated the immersive benefits of 5G in the field of healthcare, through Jio Community Clinic medical kit, and the revolutionary AR-VR device, Jio Glass. These benefits will bring transformational changes in the lives of people in Sikkim.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister PS Tamang, said, “I am happy to launch the Jio True 5G services in Sikkim. Seamless connectivity is essential in today’s world, and with the 5G services operational in the state, it will improve network services in every village, GPU, and school in Sikkim. We aim to integrate technology in the newly formed districts of Soreng and Pakyong, and the launch of the 5G services will ease the process of transformation and adoption. It is good to know that within a short period, Jio has been able to be one of the reliable network providers, and I hope they will continue to build on it. Commenting on the occasion, Jio Spokesperson said, “We are excited to expand Jio True 5G in Gangtok. Soon, Jio True 5G network will be present across the length and breadth of Sikkim. By December 2023 every District Head Quarter, town and tehsil in Sikkim will have Jio’s True 5G services.

Jio True 5G will also enable citizens and the government to remain connected on a real-time basis and will assist the rapid reach of government schemes to the last mile user.
