CM OF SIKKIM EXTENDS SUPPORT TO SC COMMUNITY ON AMBEDKAR JAYANTI

New Delhi, April 15: Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang, graced the State Level celebration of the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the Chief Guest at the premises of Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA).

In an event attended by various state level dignitaries consisting of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, MP Lok Sabha and many others from the state Government, Chief Minister PS Tamang was felicitated by All Sikkim Scheduled Caste Welfare Association (ASSCWA) representatives.

School toppers belonging to SC Community were felicitated during the programme. Likewise, various other noteworthy achievers in different fields were also felicitated for their remarkable accomplishments.

The Chief Minister in his address emphasised that every individual should take Dr. Ambedkar’s exemplary contribution to shun inequality in our society. One should inculcate his ideology to establish an equal society, he added. Speaking about the importance of work culture, he said that Government employees need to deliver their professional service efficiently and work for the benefit of the State at large rather than only focusing on self-interests.

Further, Chief Minister Tamang ensured that the rights granted to the State under Article 371F and protected by Indian Constitution can never be tampered with or violated.

President, ASSCWA thanked the Chief Minister for providing continuous support and cooperation to ensure every form of development in the State.
