CM Tamang assures of Government’s commitment for development of education in Sikkim

Gangtok, November 15: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang graced the State Level Children’s Day celebrations in Gangtok today.

The Chief Minister, in his address, said that the priority of his administration is to encourage excellent quality of the education system in the State, and the objective is to provide the best campus, competent lecturers, and teachers and similarly offer the best facilities to students in the State.

In his speech, he highlighted the achievements of the Government and said that more dedication from all the stakeholders is needed to improve the quality of education in Sikkim.

The Chief Minister also directed the students to understand the importance of education and put their minds and soul into pursuing it. He assured to provide all possible assistance for the holistic development of every student in the State.

He said that when students desire to study, the Government will put all efforts into helping those students pursue education. He cited how the 50 MBBS students have benefited from the schemes and policies of the state government.

He also mentioned that imparting Digital Education helps students learn and become efficient in all sectors.

On the occasion, he directed the Forest Department to notify the mass about the plantation of 100 saplings on the birth of each child in the State.

He assured every possible assistance to underprivileged students and said that when students have a firm desire to pursue higher education but face difficulties due to financial constraints, the Government would always support them.

The Chief Minister felicitated the AISSE and AISSCE 2022 topper students and Schools under different categories during the function.

During the programme, schools were also presented with awards for performing well, under NIPUN Bharat NIPUN Sikkim.

One of the highlights of the programme was the Launch of “Aadhar for my Child” by DESME in Collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Earlier, the Formal Launch of NILP (National Integrated Literacy Programme) was conducted. The scheme would support the States and Union Territories in promoting literacy among non-literates and will be implemented through volunteerism in an online mode.

During the programme, the Chief Minister handed over the token of Internship Orders to the Students under the Chief Minister’s Internship Scheme.
