CM TAMANG PAYS TRIBUTE TO PAST LEGISLATORS OF SIKKIM

New Delhi, July 27: Former Legislators’ Federation of Sikkim (FLFS) celebrated its 21st Foundation Day at Manan Kendra in Gangtok.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang graced the occasion as the chief guest and was accompanied by Speaker, Arunachal Legislative Assembly cum Chairman CPA India Region Zone-III, Pasang D. Sona, as the guest of honour, Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Arun Kumar Upreti, and Deputy Speaker, SLA, Sangay Lepcha, as special guests.

Also present were Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chairmans, HoDs, officers and staff of various line departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang welcomed Pasang D. Sona to the State and thanked him for his presence in the event. Paying heartfelt tribute to the deceased legislators who have served the State with dedication and distinction, the Chief Minister acknowledged the immense contributions they made during their tenure and the lasting impact they have left on the State’s development. He also stated that organizations like the FLFS are indispensable in promoting the welfare of its members and added that the State government will be providing essential support to the Federation for its development.

Talking further, the Chief Minister stated that all the communities, regardless of their political affiliations, should come together in communal harmony and work positively to bring various positive changes in the State. He lauded the felicitations that the Federation provided to the former legislators and also gave his best wishes to all the felicitated legislators.

On the occasion of 21st Foundation Day of the FLFS, the Chief Minister mentioned that in the coming future, the Federation will be provided with a permanent building for which site has been allotted. He also mentioned that from the coming year onwards, the Foundation Day will be celebrated as a calendar event.

Further, he also stated that the State Government will review the pension scheme of the legislators and provide a newer pension scheme. He added that exposure tours for the former legislators will also be organised in the near future.

Speaker, Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, Pasang D. Sona, in his short address, praised the State administration and mentioned that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh takes Sikkim as an inspiration.

On the occasion, the FLFS felicitated Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Speaker ALA cum Chairman CPA India Region Zone-III, Pasang D. Sona, Speaker SLA, Arun Kumar Upreti, and Deputy Speaker SLA, Sangay Lepcha.

In the course of felicitations, former Ministers and legislators who served in the Third and fourth Legislative Assembly were also felicitated.
