Colgate and Apollo Dental Clinics collaborate to raise awareness about gum care

03.08.2022: Apollo Dental Clinics, one of the leading chains of dental clinics in India, has collaborated with Colgate to raise awareness about gum care. Apollo Dental Clinics will provide complimentary oral screenings by dentists to patients visiting the clinic, and they will be given a sample of Colgate Gum Expert toothpaste.

As part of the awareness drive, 50+ Apollo Dental Clinics in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad will provide the complimentary oral screenings, followed by clinics in other cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Pune. In a post-pandemic era, dentists across the country have witnessed a rise in the number of patients visiting them. As per industry statistics, 40.7% of patients visiting dentists had sensitivity issues, but also noticed having problems such as decay and bleeding gums too. Dentists also observed that those aged below 16 and in the 17–34 age groups needed orthodontic care (94.8% and 57.8%, respectively). Restorative care was the most prevalent need in the 17–34 (77.7%) and 35–44 (76.1%) age groups, and those in the 45–64 age group needed periodontal, prosthetic and surgical care (95.8, 90.9 and 13.3%, respectively). To address these concerns, Apollo Dental Clinics has strong and experienced periodontics specialty experts that can help patients combat issues related to gum care.

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Chandra Sekhar C, CEO, Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd. said, “At Apollo Dental Clinics, we are focused on providing a comprehensive and holistic care program to improve the oral health of our population. Gum care is a vital issue, as it can have a major impact if not addressed properly. A serious gum infection can destroy the jawbone, while periodontitis is a risk factor for heart and lung diseases. We thank the team at Colgate India for joining hands with us, in addressing this issue and helping us generate awareness about Oral Health. We are confident that our initiative will make people aware of their gum issues, and encourage them to adopt healthier practices for gum care.”
