New Delhi Jan, 12: Mothers from the BPL category would be receiving free four LPG refills annually under the Sikkim Aama Sahyog Yojana, announced Chief Minister PS Golay on Sunday.

Addressing a retired government employees’ programme at Saramsa Garden, the Chief Minister said that the State government is providing four free LPG refills to every mother from the BLP category – one refill in every three month.

“We have decided that once in every three month, we will transfer Rs. 1,100 to the bank account of the beneficiary for refilling their LPG cylinder. In total, we are giving Rs. 4,400 annually to the needy mother under the Sikkim Aama Sahyog Yojana for LPG refills,” said Golay.

The Chief Minister informed that the State government is already providing Rs. 40,000 annually to the needy mothers under the Aama Yojana. He added that announcements made during Rholu Diwas last month would be launched during the upcoming State Panchayat Sammelan later this January.

On Monday, Chief Minister PS Golay met the retired government employees of Gangtok, Mangan and Pakyong districts at Saramsa Garden near Ranipool. It was the second and final day of his ‘Bhetghat’ with the retired government workers.

Before individually meeting them, the Chief Minister addressed the gathering of retired government employees where he acknowledged the contributions made by the retired government employees for Sikkim’s development. He also shared with them the achievements and initiatives of the SKM government, a SKM release informs.

Whatever the SKM government has accomplished, it is due to collective teamwork of the Sikkimey Janata, employees and officials, said the Chief Minister.

Speaking about the coming election, Golay reiterated his confidence that the SKM will sweep all the six districts of Sikkim based on the good governance and achievements of the SKM government.

“People will give us absolute majority due to our work. In 2019, we had entered the field barefooted but despite that, we won 18 seats. Now we have come to the field wearing jerseys, gloves and everything and hence, we have already won the match. At some places, the opposition candidates would forfeit,” said Golay.
