GO FIRST ACCORDED APPROVAL FOR NIGHT PARKING AT JAMMU AND SRINAGAR AIRPORTS

Jammu & Srinagar, April 22, 2021: GO FIRST (formerly known as GoAir) has announced that it has been accorded approval for night parking at Jammu and Srinagar airports from Airport Authority of India (AAI), becoming the first airline to receive the permission. Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir made the announcement yesterday at an official event, allowing one Airbus A320neo aircraft each to be parked at Jammu airport and Srinagar airport.

The first flight for night parking was received by Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the august presence of Mr Prakash Ranjan Thakur, Principal Secretary Civil Aviation, Industries and Commerce; AOC IAF G S Bhullar, Mr Sanjeev Gargh, Airport Director; Mr Mahesh Kumar, CASO; Mr Manjeet Singh, IOC Manager; Mr Kapil Tickoo, BCAS Coordinator; Mr Khurshid, Terminal Manager AAI; COO IAF, Group Captain Sandeep Singh; Mr Yogesh Mishra, Assistant Commandant CISF; Mr Mukesh Singh, IGP JK UT Police.

This is a significant development for the union territory as the night parking permission will facilitate better flight operations from the region.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Kaushik Khona, Chief Executive Officer, GO FIRST said: “We are delighted at this development. We would like to thank the authorities for their kind consideration and will continue our commitment to the development of J&K.”

We believe that GO FIRST has been instrumental in the development of air travel to and from J&K. GO FIRST operated the first night flight from Jammu following its successful operations of the first night flight from Srinagar. GO FIRST is the only airline appointed for the cargo movement of Horticultural perishable and agricultural produce of J&K Horticulture Products – the state-owned company.
