Hyderabad, 24th September 2022: Medica Group of Hospitals, the largest & one of the fastest growing private hospital chains in Eastern India, with footprints in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, and Assam, conducted the first Annual HR Conference, ‘HR Colloquium 2022’ for the New Age HR Professionals at Taal Kutir Convention Centre, Eco Park, Kolkata. The event was graced by the Senior Management Team of Medica including Dr. Alok Roy, Chairman of Medica Group of Hospitals, Mr. R Udayan Lahiry, Managing Director, Medica Group of Hospitals, Mr. Ayanabh DebGupta, Co-founder & Jt. Managing Director, Medica Group of Hospitals, and Mr. Sudhanshu Roy, President Group HR, Medica Group of Hospitals. A galaxy of HR stalwarts & renowned speakers including Mr. Nadeem Kazim, Mr. Shiladitya Bhattacharya, Mr. Biswanath Ghosh, Mr. Rudra Narayan Misra, and Mr. Rahul Bose were also present at the event.
The one-day conference provided the bridge for HR Professionals of today and the leaders of tomorrow to enhance their capabilities by understanding HR Challenges in the post-pandemic era and developing proactive strategies to overcome them. The event also offered endless networking opportunities for professionals and scholars from various academic institutions.

Special interest sessions by a galaxy of speakers were planned to enhance the learning experience through recent updates and revisiting existing practices. Mr. Shiladitya Bhattacharya, Founder & Managing Partner of Positive Strokes emphasized how a caregiver ensures that someone who requires assistance with everyday routines and activities remains well and happy while expressing his thoughts on ‘Reinforcing the Purpose of a Caregiver in the Present Context.’ Aging individuals may require the support of a caregiver due to an accident, mobility or cognitive challenges, diseases, or chronic conditions that make everyday activities more challenging. As a result, caregivers require not only current training but also assistance from their employers to fulfill their jobs effectively.
Mr. Rudra Narayan Misra, Advocate, Senior Consultant – HRM & Labour Laws, Corporate Trainer, expressed his opinions about ‘HRM in the 21st Century’ highlighting the significance of HR services in helping businesses differentiate themselves in the twenty-first century. Specialized knowledge and training in areas such as industrial/organizational psychology, sensitivity training, organizational change management, labour relations, and effective communication are required for people management. All of these are teachable talents that may significantly improve an organization’s employee performance.
While speaking on ‘Employee Engagement Through Learning & Development’, Mr. Rahul Bose, Business Consultant & Trainer, addressed how training programs should focus on the whole growth of its employees, not simply the acquisition of new facts or talents. Increased productivity enhances self-assurance, which leads to increased work satisfaction and lower turnover. During his presentations, he urged organizations to provide a wide range of internal training resources for usage by employees at all levels.
Mr. Biswanath Ghosh, Organizational Behaviour Specialist & Executive Coach, described in detail The reverse sweep, the knuckle ball and desanskritization of HR – an irreverent view. Lastly, Mr. Nadeem Kazim, Founder CEO of Splice HR Works, while sharing his thoughts about Paradigm Shift – Change in HR, dwelled upon the fact that HR managers
in the post-pandemic era need to do more than just be vigilant about spotting problems before they have a significant impact on operations; they also need to begin developing concrete strategies for addressing those problems. When managing staff, there is a need to prioritize flexibility to provide a seamless, modern experience for all employees.
Human Resources has been the driver of change in a rapidly changing industry, particularly in the post-pandemic era, and the dynamic HR team has been one of the contributors to positioning Medica as a front runner in Healthcare Services.
During the event, Mr. Sudhanshu Roy, President Group HR, Medica Group of Hospitals, averred, “While the entire country has experienced a great transformation in the professional sector during and after the pandemic, HR has played a critical role in overcoming the day-to-day complications that make it difficult for management to overcome the issues.
