Mata Amritanandamayi Math Prepares Grand Celebration for 70th Birth Anniversary of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi

Hyderabad/Kollam, September 18, 2023 – The Mata Amritanandamayi Math announces the commemoration of the 70th birth anniversary of the revered spiritual leader, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. The celebration is scheduled to take place on October 3, 2023 promises to be an event of immense significance, blending spiritual devotion, humanitarian values, and a resolute commitment to environmental preservation.

The grand event will unfold under a specially erected pandal at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus. Distinguished delegates representing 193 nations from the United Nations will converge upon Amritapuri to partake in this significant occasion, carrying a vital message of environmental conservation.

The day’s festivities will include the prestigious Amrita Keerthi award presentation, a heart-warming community wedding ceremony, the distribution of clothing to those in need, and the conferral of certificates to 3,000 individuals who successfully completed vocational training programs initiated by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in various regions of the country.

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi herself will grace the event with her presence and impart her profound birthday message to the tens of thousands of attendees who will gather at Amritapuri. Additionally, the Math will unveil its forthcoming charitable initiatives during the celebration.

Swami Amritaswaroopanandapuri, the vice-chairman of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, will conduct the gurupada puja as a significant part of the event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of captivating cultural performances presented by students from Amrita University and Amrita Vidyalayam across the country.

The celebrations are expected to draw thousands of visitors, both local and from afar, who will converge upon Amritapuri on October 2 and 3, 2023. Rath yatras, originating from diverse parts of the country, are set to commence on September 27, culminating in a grand procession arriving at Amritapuri on October 2, 2023.
