New Delhi, July 6: Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang, in an college fest of Government College Rhenock on Wednesday made a major announcement about the ๐๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ญ๐-๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ. He informed that the students will have representation and participation in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly for the first time in the state’s history. Through the Model Assembly, students will be able to express their thoughts, voice their concerns, and actively participate in the governance of the state. This programme attempts to instill in young people a sense of civic responsibility and democratic values, he said.
The CM applauded the students’ dedication and hard work in government institutions, emphasising the importance of education in shaping individuals and society’s future. He encouraged lifelong learning and skill acquisition for a fruitful future.
The CM highlighted a number of significant programmes designed to aid underprivileged students and give them equal educational opportunities. He emphasised the value of the Chief Minister Merit Scholarship Programme, which strives to give students from households with limited resources access to higher education.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the difficulties students had been facing during power shortages. In order to allay this worry, he stated that underprivileged households with students would receive inverters, allowing them to continue their studies even in the absence of electricity.
CM PS Tamang underlined the improvements made to the Aama Yojana Scheme. The incentive will be disbursed in two installments, giving non-working mothers essential financial support.
Furthermore, the CM also urged everyone to collaborate collectively to ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐ ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ (๐๐) ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ข๐ฆ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐. He instructed everyone in the community to take responsibility by promptly registering TB patients at nearby hospitals. The objective of a healthier Sikkim will be furthered by this united effort, which will enable prompt TB diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Announcing the expansion of the Bahini Scheme to include colleges. Previously, the scheme was limited to schools, but the Chief Minister announced the distribution of sanitary napkins in every college across the state in order to facilitate free and safe sanitary pads.
