Global Media Congress, one of the largest events in the media industry, opened today at the ADNEC National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi. ROSKINO’s stand “Filming Locations in Russia” presents filming opportunities in Russia: Moscow, Moscow region, Sochi, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and others. Representatives of the Russian Association of Film and Television Producers also take part in the ROSKINO stand.
The Congress is being held for the second time. The first congress in 2022 brought together more than 5,500 delegates, over 13,500 visitors, and almost 200 international brands. The Global Media Congress brings together different areas of the media industry including content production and promotion, television and radio broadcasting, technology, equipment, and media platforms.
The project “Filming Locations in Russia” was implemented by ROSKINO with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in April 2023. The mission of the project is to open Russia to the international film industry, to promote the development of regional film production,and to increase the country’s tourism potential.
As part of the project, seven film location tours for foreign film industry specialists have already taken place: the tours to Moscow, Moscow region, Krasnodar region, Kaliningrad region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and Khabarovsk region. More than 40 foreign producers from India, South Korea, China, Iran, Kenya, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan took part in the tours which included meetings with Russian filmmakers and regional film commissions, and visits to Russian film and animation studios. More film location tours to Moscow and St. Petersburg are also planned for this year for producers from Serbia, Iran, Mozambique, and South Africa.
