Gangtok, October 18: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and his spouse Madam Krishna Rai attended the closing day of the Sikkim Youth Convention 2023 on Tuesday as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour along with Speaker SLA, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Mayor and Deputy Mayor GMC, Councillors GMC, State Government officials, dignitaries, eminent motivational speakers and educationist and over 800 students from across Sikkim.

The two-day Sikkim Youth Convention 2023 organised by Voice NGO and supported by the State Government, with the motto ‘Revolutionizing Young Minds’ was initiated to motivate the Sikkimese youth. Students from all government and private colleges in Sikkim were invited to attend the Sikkim Youth Convention 2023.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang in his address, thanked the Voice NGO for successfully organising the Sikkim Youth Convention 2023. In a special note read out in Hindi, he thanked the Keynote Speaker Khan Sir for accepting the invitation. He expressed that Khan Sir’s much awaited arrival has been the cherry on top of an already successful event. He stated that his presence made a significant impact to the audiences and expressed hope to have the honour of welcoming him to our State in the near future.
Education Sector being the key to unlocking a promising life and securing a prosperous future of the youth, the Chief Minister highlighted some of the initiatives undertaken by the State Government in the field of education. The government has laid utmost emphasis on transforming and building a strong education system in the State to empower future generations with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in an ever-evolving world, he added.
He also pronounced some key announcements made during a Press Conference on October 16; Punarwas Awas Yojana to assist the victims of the recent flash floods, three months rent support of Rs. 5000/- to the victims stationed at relief camps, and Rs. 10,000/- each to the affected students.
Keynote Speaker, Founder of Khan GS Coaching Institute, Khan Sir who has a You tube following of 21.8M Subscribers and is known for his unique teaching style garnering widespread popularity, spoke about time management, which is another important aspect of Khan Sir’s teaching strategy. He urged the students to focus on their strengths and weaknesses by managing their study hours efficiently through which they can maximize their productivity.
The Speaker also interacted with the students from various colleges across the State, covering array of topics which includes; unparalleled teaching methods and commitment to affordable education, motivation being a driving force behind great accomplishments, personal growth, challenges and keys to success.
As an act of generosity, the Speaker also donated Rs. 10 lakhs, which he had received as an honorarium from the organisers of the event, to aid the flash-flood affected victims.

The programme also witnessed the launch of youth-oriented website (pstamangforyouth) by the Chief Guest. The website will function as an effective virtual interface through which the concerns of the youth will reach to the Chief Minister’s Office directly.
