STATE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD BEST PRIVATE SCHOOLS FROM 2024

Delhi, 7 Nov (IPR): Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang attended the “State Education Awards 2023” event organised by Mount Zion School, Tadong, at the Saramsa Garden on Monday.

The purpose of the event was to commemorate prominent figures in the education sector who have devoted their careers to advancing the educational system and influencing the lives of students.

In his address, highlighted that education forms a backbone for the society and plays a crucial role in the developing a state. He emphasised the importance of teachers in shaping students’ futures and inspiring them to excel. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the institutions and assured to extend his full support and cooperation in improving the education system.

He as well applauded private and government teachers for their dedication and encouraged schools to register with the Education Monitoring & Management Information System (EMMIS) system.

The Aama Yojana and the Bahini Scheme, among other state government initiatives, were also highlighted by the Chief Minister.

In an effort to recognise educational achievement in the private education sector and enhance the quality of education in the state, he also declared that the government will award the “best private schools”.

Initially, the Chief Minister also visited the stalls set up by different educational institutions and interacted with the experts to understand the curriculum that was being offered for the holistic development of the students.
