Taj Mahal, New Delhi celebrates 50 years of the iconic ‘The Taj’ magazine

Delhi, 26th July 2023: Taj Mahal, New Delhi hosted a grand celebration honouring the Golden Edition of ‘The Taj’ magazine, marking its 50th year in 2023. The prestigious event paid tribute to the remarkable journey of the magazine over the last five decades. This revered, award-winning publication has been a true ambassador of Indian art, heritage, culture, cuisine, lifestyle, travel, and people, capturing the essence of India’s diverse tapestry in its iconic pages.

The celebration was marked by a panel discussion graced by Shabana Azmi, H.H. Maharani Priyadarshini Raje Scindia and Javed Akhtar, moderated by Vir Sanghvi. The panellists shared their close connection with ‘The Taj’ magazine and IHCL Hotels. Weaving anecdotes of cherished moments at their favourite destinations, special mentions were made to Taj Mahal, New Delhi and The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

The evening witnessed a heartfelt video message by Fareed Zakaria, currently in Aspen, in commemoration of his mother, the late Dr. Fatma Zakaria, the renowned and highly acclaimed former editor of ‘The Taj’ magazine.

Eminent guests Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Anjolie Ela Menon & Raja Menon, Paresh Maity, Priya Paul, Anshu Khanna, Ravi Bajaj, Shereen Bhan, Rocky Mohan, Shivani Wazir, Sunaina Anand, Amit Goyal, Sanjay Khanna, Navika Kumar, Vanita Nangia, and other valued patrons, joined the milestone celebration.

The guests savoured a curated culinary experience, relishing delicacies such as Cheese & Charcuterie, Sous Vide Duck & Quisotto and Home Cured Salmon, Scallop & Caviar. A dessert trolley with global flavours and a bespoke selection of hand crafted chocolates was crafted to perfection. The event was enriched with enlivening music, and enchanting notes from the harp, violin, and flute.
