Vi enhances Voice calling experience for customers in Maharashtra & Goa

– Doubling of VoLTE capacity enables more Vi users in Maharashtra & Goa to enjoy HD voice quality and faster call connectivity

Pune, 23rd June 2022: Leading telecom brand Vi, has enhanced Voice calling experience for customers in Maharashtra & Goa on the back of doubling of VoLTE capacity in the two states. This network initiative enables more Vi customers to make calls using VoLTE and enjoy HD quality crystal clear voice with superfast call connect. VoLTE calling facility is available to Vi customers across all towns and villages in Maharashtra & Goa.

Over the past year, Vi has also been ramping up 4G capacity in Maharashtra & Goa with additional deployment of 900 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum. Vi has the highest deployment of most efficient 900 MHz band spectrum in the telecom circle ensuring better voice clarity and indoor experience for customers.

Speaking about the initiative, Rohit Tandon, Cluster Business Head, Maharashtra & Goa- Vodafone Idea said, “I would like to extend an invitation to 4G mobile phone users in Maharashtra & Goa to enjoy an improved, superior calling experience on Vi VoLTE network. We have undertaken multiple initiatives over the past year to widen our 4G network spread in the circle as well as strengthen coverage across urban and rural locations. We have now doubled our VoLTE capacity in the two states, enabling more Vi customers to enjoy seamless, long conversations with their loved ones. Vi customers need a VoLTE enabled device to experience instant call connect and ultra HD voice clarity of Vi VoLTE”.

At the national level, Vi has been consistent with its high quality voice calls and has been delivering the highest rated voice quality in the country as per TRAI’s “MyCall” app data for 17 out of 19 months from November 2020 to May 2022.

Keeping its focus on Maharashtra as a key market, Vi is conducting 5G trials in Pune. Recently, Vi had announced the achievement of a technology milestone in its Pune 5G trials by demonstrating a peak download speed of 5.92 Gbps
