– The panel discussion on philately sought its introduction in school curriculum
– 5 special covers were launched at AMRITPEX 2023 by India Post
New Delhi, 14th Feb 2023: A brilliant show on youth parliament was the center of attraction in the 4th day of AMRITPEX 2023, being organized by India Post here at pragati maidan in which students of Jaffar Kalan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya performed with near perfection roles of both ruling and opposition parties.
The exhibition began on 11th of February and comes to an end on 15th of this month, in its 4th day, the AMRITPEX 2023 hosts. Today India Post also released special covers on India’s puppetry heritage, International Year of Millets 2023, Tribal Hero Birsa Munda, Social reformer Govind Guru of 1900 and National Song ‘Vande Matram’.
The youth parliament had an active discussion on the subjects such as National Youth Policy, Foreign Policy etc. The student politicians held major discussion on the use of smartphones in the classroom including an intense debate took place for the screen time for students up to 12th standard in which the ruling party students favored use of smartphones with restraint whereas the opposition outright objected to its use in schools.
Later on a special session was organized on philately as a platform to instill a sense of pride for our roots and rich heritage. Among those that took part in the session consisted of – Prof. Vijayalaxmi Nanda – Principal of Miranda House College, Ms. Shalini Prasad – PGT Psychology, Delhi Public School, Dr. Aruna Sharma – Practitioner Development Economist and policy advisor, Dr. Charles Lobo – Designation, Mr. D.B Ramakrishna – Philatelist. It was unanimously recommended that a preliminary course should be introduced at initial levels of education on philately and subsequently a research orientation be developed on this art of stamp collection because it reveals and represents the history, geography and huge other landscapes on the horizon for the growth of our faculties.
