India, 28th January, 2025: ShareChat, India’s largest homegrown social media company, today announced the opening of its first Southeast Asia AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore. This marks ShareChat’s third establishment outside India, after the US and UK. The new centre will help the organization reach a larger network of highly specialized AI talent in the region, build a cutting-edge technological stack and deliver an unparalleled experience to its community.
ShareChat and Moj have a cumulative reach of over 325 million users and operate in 15 Indian languages. Building innovative solutions focused on content discovery and recommendation play a huge role for both the platforms. With the new AI Centre of Excellence, ShareChat aims to strengthen its AI models, develop ML models to personalise content for each user, and optimize ad targeting while ensuring delivery of authentic user generated content. Leveraging Singapore’s strong community of regional AI talent and infrastructure, ShareChat plans to expand its team to over 30 members in the next three years, further reinforcing ShareChat’s commitment to innovation and developing AI talent within the Southeast Asia region. With millions of content generated on the ShareChat and Moj ecosystem everyday, it becomes critical to develop a state of the art recommendation system to ensure that users discover interesting and relevant content.

ShareChat’s AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore will be helmed by their newly appointed CTO, Nitin Jain. Nitin is a seasoned tech leader who brings a wealth of leadership experience from renowned companies like Tokopedia, Gojek, and most recently, TikTok. His extensive experience in building high impact tech teams in the South East Asian region will be invaluable in developing the new centre. This centre will work towards delivering a distinctly personalized content feed for ShareChat’s community of users making their digital experience memorable.
