P&G Shiksha Betiyan Scholarship awarded to three students at IIM Mumbai

The Scholarship program, part of the Company’s flagship CSR initiative – P&G Shiksha, provides financial support and mentorship to girls pursuing higher education in STEM fields

Through this program, P&G Shiksha has positively impacted hundreds of meritorious girls from underserved communities across the country

Mumbai, February 28, 2025: Procter & Gamble India (P&G India), makers of brands like Ariel, Tide, Gillette etc., recognized and awarded P&G Shiksha Betiyan Scholarship to three girls pursuing STEM courses at Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). P&G India implements this program in partnership with Centre for Civil Society. The scholarship was awarded on the sidelines of the IIM Mumbai Equality Summit, in the presence of Sitaram Kunte – Independent Board Director, Former Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra (GoM) and Former Principal Advisor to Hon. CM, Government of Maharashtra, V Kumar – CEO, P&G India, Manoj Kumar Tiwari – Founding Director, IIM Mumbai, Amit Chandra – CEO, Centre for civil society, among others.

A part of the Company flagship CSR initiative – P&G Shiksha, the Scholarship program is a unique initiative that offers financial assistance and mentorship opportunities to girls from underserved communities pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, aiming to support entry of skilled women professionals into manufacturing, production, vocational and other STEM fields. This marks the third consecutive year of P&G Shiksha awarding the scholarship to girls pursuing higher education at IIM Mumbai.

Speaking on this occasion, Enakshee Deva, Head – CSR & Communications, P&G India said, “Over the past two decades, P&G Shiksha has continued to positively impact underserved communities through diverse educational initiatives. We believe education is a powerful enabler, creating positive ripple effects for individuals, families, and communities alike. By offering both financial assistance and mentorship, P&G Shiksha Betiyan Scholarship aims to help pave the way for these talented young women to become the next generation of female leaders in STEM. I am delighted to witness three young and exceptional girls get awarded at IIM Mumbai this year. We are hopeful that this support will empower these young women to excel in their educational and career pursuits.”

The Scholarships were awarded on the sidelines of the 5th edition of IIM Mumbai Equality Summit, that convened key stakeholders from the government, corporate sector, and academia to deliberate on topics pertaining to advancing the representation of women in STEM careers, with a keen focus on Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
