SUFALAM 2025 Concludes Successfully at NIFTEM-K After Two Days of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Collaboration

New Delhi / Sonipat, April 27, 2025: The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), in collaboration with NIFTEM-Kundli, successfully concluded SUFALAM 2025 (Start-Up Forum for Aspiring Leaders and Mentors), a two-day conclave focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration in India’s food processing sector. The event was inaugurated by Shri Chirag Paswan, Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Industries, who emphasized empowering youth, enhancing food processing capacity, and building a global food hub for India.

Dr. Subrata Gupta, Secretary, MoFPI, attended as Guest of Honour and stressed the importance of sustainability, waste reduction, and technological innovation to meet the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K, welcomed the delegates and highlighted NIFTEM-K’s pivotal role in bridging academia and industry.

Over 300 participants, including industry leaders, academicians, investors, and young entrepreneurs, participated in SUFALAM 2025. The inaugural day featured keynote speeches from Prof. Harpal Singh (IIT Delhi) and Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi (IIFT), alongside startup pitching opportunities and technical sessions covering lessons from seasoned entrepreneurs, strategies for sustainable growth, and digital marketing for food startups. A vibrant cultural program by NIFTEM-K students added color to the day.

The second day commenced with inspiring talks by emerging startups sharing their entrepreneurial journeys. Technical sessions included “Government Funding & Policy Support for Startups” by STARTUP INDIA representatives, a panel discussion on “Sustainable Food Solutions” featuring industry experts, and a motivational session by Dr. T. Prasad (IIM Mumbai) on resilience in the startup world.

A second Startup Pitching Session gave entrepreneurs another platform to engage with investors and receive feedback. The event concluded with a guided tour of NIFTEM’s Pilot Plants and Laboratories, showcasing its world-class research and innovation infrastructure.

SUFALAM 2025 successfully blended inspiration, learning, and networking, reinforcing the spirit of innovation and collaboration to drive India’s food processing sector forward.
