The partnership will address long-ignored legal vulnerabilities faced by tourist transport operators through Lawyer-On-The-Spot (LOTS), a tech-enabled legal solution for the mobility ecosystem.
May 2025: The Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA), the only Government of India-recognized national body representing tourist taxi and transport operators, has recently announced its exclusive partnership with Lawyered, India’s leading legaltech platform to provide instant and on-road legal assistance to tourist transport operators across India.
Tourist transport operators in India often navigate across states and balance passenger safety, service commitments, and vehicle compliance. They frequently encounter unexpected legal and regulatory hurdles on the road, from challans and permit checks to documentation issues without structured legal support at hand. ITTA and Lawyered recognised this critical gap and have undertaken the initiative to offer its members access to LOTS (Lawyer-On-The-Spot), a tech-enabled legal solution for the mobility ecosystem.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ITTA and Lawyered was signed in the presence of key ITTA members, including Mr. Satish Sehrawat, President ITTA (Ten Travel), Mr. Kanwarjit Singh Sawhney, Honorary Secretary – ITTA (Baxi Transport Services), Mr. Jaspal Singh, Member ITTA (Doaba Tourist), Mr. Sukhdev Singh, Member ITTA (JTS Travels).
“The safety, dignity, and legal protection of our drivers and transport operators have been long-standing concerns. With Lawyered, we are setting a new benchmark in legal preparedness and road safety,” said Mr. Satish Sehrawat, President, ITTA. “This is not just a tech tie-up; it’s a step toward formalizing roadside legal support as a basic necessity for our industry.”
“We’re proud to partner with a respected national body like ITTA. This partnership validates our core belief that legal safety should be as accessible and routine as roadside assistance,” said Himanshu Gupta, CEO of Lawyered.
As part of the partnership, Lawyered’s LOTS will provide a comprehensive suite of legal support services tailored for drivers and fleet operators. This includes 24×7 on-call legal support, on-site legal representation during roadside incidents and seamless management solutions like Challan-as-a-Service for handling traffic fines and RTO-as-a-Service to simplify regulatory compliance with transport authorities. These will empower mobility professionals with real-time legal assistance, reduce downtime and enhance overall operational confidence on the road.
With this exclusive arrangement, all ITTA members will receive preferred access to Lawyered’s PAN-India network of 75,000+ empanelled lawyers, 24×7 legal helpline and integrated digital services for challan and RTO issues to transform legal resolution from a reactive pain point into a proactive service model.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing comprehensive support to our operator community and elevating professional standards in the transport sector,” said Bobby KS Sawhney, Treasurer, Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH), Hony. Secretary, Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA).
“This collaboration marks a powerful step toward structured, scalable legal support for the Taxi & Tourist Transport community across the country. By working closely with ITTA and its esteemed members, we’re not just solving legal problems — we’re building trust, compliance, and peace of mind at scale,” said Gautam Saraf, Chief Growth Officer & Managing Partner, Lawyered.
With a national network of over 300 operators, including top brands such as WTi (Wise Travel India Ltd.) cabs, ORIX India, ECO Mobility, State Express, among others. The association actively collaborates with national trade bodies like IATO, TAAI, and FHRAI, and works closely with the Ministry of Tourism to shape policy, standards, and recognition frameworks in the industry.
ITTA is a pivotal force in shaping India’s tourism mobility landscape. This exclusive collaboration introduces a first-of-its-kind legal safety net, purpose-built for the real-time operational needs of tourist transport operators.
