The CII GreenCo Environmental Best Practices Awards have played a pivotal role in driving India’s transition towards a Green, Resource-Efficient, environmentally sustainable, and Net zero (GREEN) future. By recognizing projects that collectively delivered 7.9 million units of energy savings, 19,352 tons of material conservation, 12,000 m³ of freshwater savings, 0.256 million tons of CO₂ emission reductions, and 741 million tons of waste diversion from landfills annually, the awards have inspired industries to integrate circular economy principles, carbon mitigation strategies, and sustainable resource management into core business operations. Beyond honoring innovation, the awards have created a platform for knowledge-sharing, cross-sectoral collaboration, and industry-wide replication of impactful solutions, proving that sustainability initiatives can simultaneously deliver environmental stewardship and financial gains exceeding INR 5,930 million annually.
