Next-Gen Student Innovators-cum-Entrepreneurs Shine at TiE U Bangalore 2025 Finale

  • Aasta will represent TiE Bangalore at the TiE U Global Finals, where student startups from 40 TiE chapters worldwide will participate
Bengaluru, 13th October 2025 : Aasta, a startup led by a group of students specialising in FoodTech aced the TiE U Bangalore Chapter Finale 2025, highlighting young innovators from across Karnataka who are building high-impact startups while still in university. This marks the first year of the TiE U Program under TiE Bangalore — part of the global TiE U initiative that bridges academia and entrepreneurship by nurturing student-led startups from ideation to scale.
Over 70 applications from universities across the state, out of which 20 promising ventures were selected for a rigorous journey featuring workshops, mentoring, and mock pitches. These finalists then progressed to semi-finals and the grand finale, benefitting from hands-on mentoring, investor networking, and exposure to real-world entrepreneurial challenges.
Commenting on the event, Mr Madan Padaki, President, TiE Bangalore & Trustee, TiE Global said, “The TiE U program is designed to build the next generation of entrepreneurs by connecting academic curiosity with real-world startup experience. This year’s participants demonstrated exceptional creativity and business acumen—a clear sign of India’s vibrant student innovation landscape”.
 
Aasta founded by Hanan Majid, Saiyam Kumar, and Md Kaif Alam from PW Institute of Innovation emerged as the winner, receiving a gift voucher worth ₹30,000. ScrapSaver founded by Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, Neha Sharma, PVN Vikrant, Suha Zahir, and Sulaiman Abdulla Shariff from Atria Institute of Technology (Sustainability) secured the first runner-up position, while AXORY AI led by Tarini Sai Padmanabhuni from Manipal Institute of Technology (Artificial Intelligence) was declared the second runner-up.
As the winner, Aasta will represent TiE Bangalore at the TiE U Global Finals, competing alongside top student startups from 40 TiE chapters worldwide for international recognition and potential funding support. The winners were evaluated on several key criteria, including opportunity assessment, value proposition, operational and management credibility, success viability, financial acumen, and presentation skills.
The event was evaluated by an esteemed jury comprising Ms. Seetal R. Iyer, Co-Founder & Content Head, Timbre Media; Mr. C.V. Ramanan, Joint Director – Academic Excellence, Karnataka Residential Schools (KREIS); and Dr. L. Ravindran, Managing Director & CEO, Wealthmax Enterprises Management Pvt. Ltd. Their collective expertise across media, academia, and business brought diverse perspectives to the judging process, ensuring a holistic evaluation of innovation, scalability, and impact presented by each participant.
The competition featured a diverse lineup of student-led startups across multiple sectors. OZY from RV Institute of Management, specialized in HealthTech and AI; Planiva from Atria University, focused on EventTech and Planning; and SHEILD from Global Academy of Technology, worked in SafetyTech and IoT.
The Top 6 finalists from TiE University Bangalore will continue to receive ongoing support through structured mentoring, investor connects, and exposure to TiE’s extensive market networks. TiE Bangalore also fosters a thriving community of nearly 1000 student entrepreneurs and young innovators through the TiE U and TiE Young Entrepreneurs programs, helping them access mentorship, learning opportunities, and real-world startup ecosystems beyond the competition.
