Sikkim’s Pride: MSU Student Radhika Chettri to Represent India at WorldSkills Asia 2025 in Taipei

SIKKIM | November 26, 2025: Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has once again reaffirmed its position as India’s rising powerhouse in skill-based education. In a moment of immense pride for Sikkim, the North-East, and the nation, Radhika Chettri, a student of Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) at MSU, Sikkim, has secured her place on Team India for the prestigious WorldSkills Asia 2025 competition, scheduled from November 27–29 in Chinese Taipei. Her journey is historic she enters the international arena after winning a Silver Medal in Health & Social Care at IndiaSkills 2024, marking Sikkim’s first-ever medal at the national competition and establishing MSU as India’s youngest university to win at IndiaSkills 2024.

This achievement is historic, it’s the first time a student from Sikkim or the North-East will represent India in the Health & Social Care category at WorldSkills Asia. It is a powerful testament to the excellence of MSU’s School of Health Sciences & Technology, whose faculty have nurtured and prepared her with rigorous, hands-on training. This milestone reaffirms MSU’s skill, brilliance and academic strength.

WorldSkills Asia stands among the world’s most respected platforms for demonstrating technical excellence, innovation, and vocational mastery. Bringing together the finest young professionals from across the continent, the competition is often regarded as the “Olympics of Skills,” where only the top national champions compete. Representing India at this esteemed global forum is a rare honour and a testament to exceptional talent, discipline, and rigorous training. Radhika’s selection places Sikkim and MSU firmly on the global skills map, showcasing India’s growing strength in world-class vocational education.

In a landmark national moment, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and MoS Education, Government of India, recently flagged off India’s first-ever contingent for WorldSkills Asia 2025. Joined by senior officials including Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, MSDE, and actor Shri Sudesh Berry, the ceremony celebrated the 23 young champions representing India across 21 skill categories—marking India’s debut on the WorldSkills Asia stage and reinforcing the nation’s growing stature as a global skill powerhouse.

Preparing for the event, Radhika has undergone rigorous, high-intensity training at Vidyanta Skills Institute, under the expert guidance of Ms. Robia Chako and Dr. Jaideep Herbert, Indian Expert for Health & Social Care at WorldSkills International. Her preparation includes cutting-edge simulation-based training, critical-care scenarios, and hands-on practice at Vidyanta Skills Institute and Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, giving her a strong competitive edge for the continental event.

Reflecting on her achievement, Radhika shared, “Representing India at WorldSkills Asia is a milestone I’m truly honoured to achieve. With the support of MSU, my mentors, and my family, I am preparing with full dedication to make my state and my country proud.”
