Korean Cultural Centre India to Host ‘K-Drama Talk’ with Renowned Director Yoo Insik

In an event eagerly awaited by Hallyu fans in New Delhi, acclaimed Korean director Yoo Insik will visit the Korean Cultural Centre India on December 4 for a special interactive session. Titled ‘K-Drama Talk with Yoo Insik’, the programme will bring the celebrated director together with Indian fans, media professionals, and cultural partners, offering a rare and direct glimpse into the creative world behind Korean dramas.

Director Yoo Insik gained widespread international attention for directing the 2022 Netflix series ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’, which became a global sensation across 190 countries and ranked among the top titles on OTT platforms worldwide. His meticulous direction and human-centred storytelling earned him the ‘Best Director Award’ in the Television category at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023, solidifying his reputation as a creator who has elevated the standard of Korean drama.

Yoo Insik’s representative works include the global phenomenon ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ (2022), the genre-defining medical drama series ‘Dr. Romantic’, the action-driven international project ‘Vagabond’ (2019), the warm and socially conscious ‘Pinocchio’ (2014), and his directorial debut ‘Surgeon Bong Dal-hee’ (2007).

During the session, Yoo will deliver a 40-minute talk offering insights into the production process of Korean dramas, his directorial philosophy, and key elements of character creation. He will also share behind-the-scenes stories from his most popular works, many of which enjoy a significant fan base in India.

A dedicated Q&A session will allow fans to ask questions about memorable scenes and production details, creating an opportunity for meaningful interaction. After the event, participants will join a group photo session, followed by a meet-and-greet and autograph session with Director Yoo, allowing fans to connect with him more personally.

Korean Cultural Centre India hopes that this event will help Indian fans gain a closer understanding of the creation and philosophy behind K-dramas, while also deepening cultural ties between Korea and India.
