Phulbari, Meghalaya | December 16, 2025

Renowned international motivational speaker and educator Munawar Zama addressed a large gathering of youth during a key session at Jamiul Uloom Rahmania Madrasa, Phulbari, delivering a thought-provoking message centred on purpose, perseverance, and ethical living. The address formed part of a five-day Islamic conference and coincided with Zama’s two-day visit to Meghalaya, drawing participation from students, teachers, scholars, and community representatives from across the region.

The conference was attended by several prominent figures, including former Member of Parliament Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, who graced the event as Chief Guest. Among the other dignitaries present were Meghalaya MLA Dr Mizanur Rahman Kazi, former Meghalaya MLA Rohibul Islam, and MLA Aminul Islam from Mankachar, Assam, lending wide political and social representation to the gathering.

In his address, Munawar Zama outlined a structured roadmap for individual and societal growth based on core principles drawn from moral and practical wisdom. He highlighted Irada (clear intention) as the starting point of all success, emphasising that effort without direction often leads to confusion and stagnation. Stressing the importance of Idara (institution and discipline), he remarked that strong intentions must be supported by systems and planning to yield tangible results.

Zama also spoke at length about Sohbat (righteous company), cautioning young people about the long-term impact of their social environment. He urged them to associate with individuals who promote learning, integrity, and positive character, noting that companionship silently shapes habits and destiny.

Referring to Mehnat (hard work) and Junoon (passion), Zama warned against the growing tendency to seek instant success. He said that sustained effort driven by genuine passion is the hallmark of lasting achievement, while shortcuts often result in temporary gains with long-term consequences.

Addressing the values of Qurbani (sacrifice) and Sabr (patience), he stated that meaningful progress requires the willingness to give up comfort and persist through challenges. Patience, he said, is an active process of endurance guided by faith. “Many journeys fail not due to lack of ability, but due to the absence of patience,” he observed.

The session received an enthusiastic response from the audience, particularly young participants, who described the address as both inspiring and practical. Educators present noted that the discourse successfully connected spiritual values with real-world challenges, offering youth a balanced framework for personal development.

In his remarks, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of educational platforms that nurture character alongside academic and professional growth. Other speakers echoed similar views, emphasising education as a cornerstone of social harmony and responsible citizenship.

Organisers noted that Munawar Zama’s engagement in Meghalaya is part of his wider national efforts to inspire youth through education, motivation, and character-building initiatives.
