Maharashtra Govt Partners with Public App to Bring Welfare Schemes to Citizens’ Fingertips

Noida, 26th May 2026: The Government of Maharashtra has partnered with Public App to improve accessibility and increase registrations of welfare schemes across the state through the dedicated “आपले सरकार” (Our Government) section on Public App.

With Public App’s strong hyperlocal reach across Maharashtra, government schemes are now more accessible, understandable, and actionable for citizens by combining digital discovery with nearby on-ground support through CSC centres.

Further, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, in his communication released yesterday, stated, “There is a need to effectively convey information about the positive work of the government to the citizens using hyperlocal digital platforms like ‘Public App’. For this, each department should prepare a separate strategy to use these platforms in a planned manner.”

What Citizens Can Do on the “आपले सरकार” Feature on Public App

  • Discover welfare schemes across multiple government departments
  • Access simplified scheme information in Marathi
  • Locate the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)
  • Connect directly with centres through contact details for enrolment support and assistance

Combining Digital Discovery with On-Ground Support

This initiative is designed to focus on assisted access – helping citizens understand schemes relevant to them and connect with the right support for faster enrolment. This collaboration builds on Public App’s core strength as a hyperlocal, vernacular-first short video platform by Inshorts Group, enabling discovery of relevant and trustworthy content from the user’s area. With 285 million downloads across 700+ districts in 12 languages and a reach of 19 million across Maharashtra, Public App serves as an ideal platform to bring welfare schemes closer to the people. This partnership reflects a shared commitment towards citizen-first digital governance and stronger last-mile delivery of welfare services, helping make government schemes more accessible and actionable for citizens across Maharashtra.
