Mumbai, 8 June 2026: Even as global LPG supply chains faced severe stress owing to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) ensured uninterrupted LPG supplies to crores of Indian households, with a special focus on beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).

During the period from 1 May to 7 June 2026, HPCL served over 9.13 Crore customers across the country and delivered 432.82 Lakh domestic LPG cylinders through its extensive distribution network of 6,229 active distributors and 52,814 delivery personnel, ensuring uninterrupted access to cooking fuel despite global supply-side pressures.

A key priority during this period was ensuring continued LPG availability to economically vulnerable households dependent on subsidised cooking fuel. HPCL served 2.80 Crore PMUY customers and delivered 101.07 Lakh PMUY refill cylinders, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring that essential household energy remained accessible to families across Bharat.

The continuity of service came at a time when approximately 54% of India’s LPG imports transit through the Strait of Hormuz, significantly impacting global LPG supply chains and logistics. Despite these challenges, HPCL strengthened supply coordination across sourcing, bottling plants, distribution points, and last-mile delivery operations to maintain uninterrupted service nationwide.

During the period, the Company delivered 8.62 Lakh 5 kg FTL cylinders and 37.77 Lakh commercial cylinders, supporting households, restaurants, hotels, and small businesses across the country.
