Canara Bank handed over a dividend cheque of ₹ 2,397 Crore to the Government of India

Bengaluru, June 29, 2026: Canara Bank on Monday handed over a dividend cheque of ₹ 2,397 Crore for the financial year 2025-2026 to Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. The cheque was presented by Shri. Brajesh Kumar Singh, MD & CEO, Canara Bank, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry and the bank’s Executive Directors, Shri. Hardeep Singh Ahluwalia, Shri Bhavendra Kumar and Shri. Sunil Kumar Chugh.

For the financial year 2025-26, Canara Bank declared a dividend of ₹4.2 per share. The dividend payout is a testament to Canara Bank’s strong financial performance and its ongoing commitment to creating long-term value for all stakeholders, including its majority stakeholder, the Government of India.

The bank reported a record net profit of ₹19,187 crore in 2025-26, compared to ₹₹17,027 crore in the previous year. This marks a 12.69 per cent increase in annual profit.
