Experion Foundation Expands Project EDEM with Second Women’s Empowerment Centre in Edamalakudi; District Collector Inaugurates Facility

IDALIPARAKUDI (Idukki), July 29, 2026: Experion Technologies, through its CSR arm Experion Foundation, inaugurated the second Women’s Empowerment Centre (WEC) under Project EDEM (Edamalakudi Development and Empowerment Mission) at Idaliparakudi in Edamalakudi Grama Panchayath on Tuesday, marking another milestone in improving the health, dignity and socio-economic well-being of women in one of Kerala’s most remote tribal settlements. The facility provides a safe, hygienic, and dignified space for women of the Muthuvan community to rest, connect, develop skills, and pursue livelihood opportunities with greater confidence.

The Centre was inaugurated by Mr. Dineshan Cheruvath IAS, District Collector, Idukki. Ms. Arya V. M. IAS, Revenue Divisional Officer, Devikulam, attended the function as the Guest of Honour, while Mr. Suresh Panicker, Co-Founder & COO, Experion Technologies & Managing Trustee, Experion Foundation, presided over the function. During the ceremony, Mr. Suresh Panicker, joined by Experion’s leadership team, handed over the completion documents of the Women’s Empowerment Centre to Mr. Saju Varghese IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Munnar, symbolising the formal transfer of the completed facility to the Forest Department, the custodian of the land.

In his presidential address, Mr. Suresh Panicker, Co-Founder & COO, Experion Technologies reiterated Experion Foundation’s commitment to sustainable, community-driven development.

“Project EDEM was conceived after understanding the unique challenges faced by the Muthuvan community. The Women’s Empowerment Centre has been designed not merely as an infrastructure project but as a safe and culturally sensitive space where women can improve their health and hygiene, develop new skills, preserve traditional crafts and build greater self-reliance. We are grateful to the District Administration, the Forest and Revenue Departments, and the people of Edamalakudi for their wholehearted support in making this initiative a reality,” he said.

The Idaliparakudi Centre is the second Women’s Empowerment Centre completed under Project EDEM, following the successful inauguration of the first Centre at Thenparakudi earlier this year. Together, these facilities aim to provide women with safe community spaces while promoting skill development, livelihood opportunities and social empowerment.

Mr. Suresh further added that completing the Centre in a region with limited road connectivity and difficult terrain required close coordination, sustained effort, and collective commitment. He acknowledged the wholehearted contributions of both Experion’s leadership team and Experion Foundation members, whose shared commitment, guided by the values of empathy, ethics, and excellence, made the project possible and reflected Experion’s responsibility to give back to society in meaningful ways.

Among those present were Mr. Biju S., Range Forest Officer, Munnar; Mr. Abhilash, Deputy Range Forest Officer; Mr. Binu, President, Edamalakudi Grama Panchayath; Mr. Saji, Secretary, Edamalakudi Grama Panchayath; Mr. Shyam, Village Officer; and leaders and members of the Muthuvan community.

Project EDEM is Experion Foundation’s flagship initiative for the holistic development of Edamalakudi, focusing on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, community infrastructure and sustainable livelihoods while preserving the cultural identity and traditions of the indigenous Muthuvan community. The initiative reflects Experion Foundation’s long-term commitment to working alongside the community and enabling development that is inclusive, sustainable, and community-led.
