SIH 2025 problem statements

SIH problem statements 2025 focused primarily on hardware and software. Around 271 problem statements were posted, which were a mix of hardware and software. The 2025 SIH witnessed the involvement of over 77 Union Ministries, state governments and various industries including PSUs.

SIH 2025 problem statements covered various sectors such as agriculture, food tech, medical tech, biotech, smart automation, space technology, fitness and sports, green technology, transportation and logistics, smart education, blockchain, cybersecurity, robotics, drone technology, smart vehicles and tourism.

Real-world problems were submitted by various ministries and organizations. Teams participating in SIH are required to choose one problem statement. They need to find a solution and come up with a prototype during the hackathon. Across hardware, the problem statements in SIH 2025 were about IoT, robotics, sensors, devices, etc. Software problem statements were mostly about web/mobile apps, data analytics, blockchain, AI and ML, etc.

Registration process, prizes

Typically, a team of 6 members is formed to participate in SIH. This team includes students and a mentor. Registration can be done via your institute’s innovation council or directly on the portal. Winners who come up with the right solutions are rewarded with Rs 1 lakh per problem. They also get other benefits such as internships, mentorship, and incubation support.

It is important to note that the SIH 2025 has already been successfully concluded. The final events were held from 8th to 12th December 2025. Problem solvers can now register for the 2026 SIH, where problem statements are scheduled to be posted during July-August 2026. Submission of ideas for 2026 SIH will take place during Aug-Sep 2026. The results will be published in October. The SIH 2026 Grand Finale will be held in December 2026.
