IndusInd General Insurance takes PMFBY awareness drive to farmers across Karnataka

Karnataka, 6th August, 2026: IndusInd General Insurance, as part of its ongoing PMFBY awareness and outreach programme, recently conducted a Mobile Van campaign across Bengaluru Urban, Chikkaballapur, Dakshina Kannada, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Kodagu, Kolar and Udupi districts of Karnataka. The initiative aimed to educate farmers about the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and raise awareness about crop insurance coverage by directly reaching rural and semi-rural communities through public announcements and interpersonal engagement. Information on enrolment timelines, farmer premium contribution, risk coverage, crop loss reporting requirements and claim settlement processes was disseminated through loudspeaker announcements, supported by prominently displayed PMFBY-branded banners and posters.

In addition, brochures were distributed to provide farmers with simple and easy-to-understand information about the scheme and its benefits, helping strengthen awareness and encouraging greater adoption of PMFBY as an effective financial safeguard against unforeseen crop losses and livelihood risks.
