GIA Alumni Collective, India Chapter, converges on the sidelines of the IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026

The networking event in Mumbai saw the GIA alumni community meet, share knowledge, and exchange ideas, building meaningful, lifelong professional connections.

Mumbai, August 10, 2026 – GIA Alumni Collective, India chapter, brought together GIA alumni who have graduated from GIA campuses anywhere in the world, providing them with a platform to meet, network, learn, and exchange ideas. GIA hosted this engaging evening on the sidelines of one of India’s largest gem and jewellery exhibitions, IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026.

The evening saw GIA alumni connect with their contemporaries, build valuable professional relationships through meaningful conversations around the gem and jewellery industry, and explore new avenues for collaboration. The community-building initiative was organised with the goal of strengthening and elevating India’s gem and jewelry industry.

GIA’s global alumni network comprises of 185,000 alumni around the world. The GIA Alumni Collective is further strengthened by 59 active chapters worldwide that foster networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Graduates from GIA campuses across the globe represent a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, design, gemology, education, and entrepreneurship.

Cathryn Ramirez, Senior Vice President and Chief Learning Officer, GIA said, “It feels wonderful to be back in India after five years. We started the GIA Alumni Collective in 2022 with the vision of creating a strong network where alumni could come together, reconnect, and give back. I’m delighted to see how much the community has grown over the years. The increasing number of alumni joining us is a testament to the power of this community. It’s inspiring to see so many people come together to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and support current and aspiring students, while also contributing to the growth of the industry as a whole.”
