Mumbai, May 9: Sankara Eye Foundation, USA (SEF USA) has announced that it will hold its upcoming “March to a Million” seminar in Mumbai on May 11. Part of its ambitious vision to perform one million free eye surgeries annually by 2030, this seminar will serve as a crucial milestone in its journey toward achieving this goal.
In the last 25 years, SEF USA has made significant strides in providing quality eye care services free of cost to the needy and disadvantaged in India. What began as support for one eye hospital in Coimbatore has now evolved into the world’s largest free eye-care and eye-surgery initiative.
“Despite our efforts, millions of Indians still live in darkness due to curable blindness. The cases continue to mount, especially in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and other interior parts of India. Addressing this challenge requires ground breaking efforts and a bold vision. Our Vision 2030 aims to perform 1 million free eye surgeries annually by 2030. We believe that no one should suffer from preventable blindness,” says Rad Sundar, Board Member, Sankara Eye Foundation.
The “March to a Million” seminar will bring together SEF’s partners, including eye hospitals, healthcare professionals, and funding organizations. The seminar will Review Progress, Roadmap Refresh and Value Additions.
