The music industry has given me a lot over the last 25 years, and this academy is my way of giving back by helping shape the next generation of Indian music professionals. The idea behind The SWAMP Academy was to create the kind of space I wish existed when many of us were starting out in music, a place where creativity meets real industry learning. We want students to not only master the technical and creative aspects of music, but also develop their unique artistic identity through a holistic learning environment that combines mentorship, collaboration, performance, technology and real-world industry exposure from professionals actively shaping the music industry today.”
The faculty and mentors at The SWAMP Academy comprise of practising music professionals who bring current industry experience into the classroom. The advisory panel includes some of the biggest names from the Indian music ecosystem, including Pritam Chakraborty, Shekhar Ravjiani, Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant, Harshdeep Kaur, Ash King, Amaal Malik, Armaan Mallik, Meghdeep Bose, Vijay Dayal, Aftab Khan, Shomu Seal, Rochak Kohli, Gaurav Vaswani, Shannon Donald and Esani Dey among others.
One of the defining aspects of the academy is its inclusive and holistic approach toward learning. The Academy has allocated 2 seats in each batch for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The academy has also been thoughtfully designed to be accessible and inclusive for students of all physical abilities, with infrastructure support such as ramp access and ease-friendly movement across the campus.
The curriculum is designed to build foundational music theory and production skills from the ground up. The academy also welcomes learners across age groups, with eligibility varying depending on the program.
