Agriculture Cluster Meet Organized by DST-TEC, Medicaps University

The DST-Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) at Medicaps University successfully hosted an Agriculture Cluster Meet aimed at fostering collaboration between academia and the agriculture industry.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, Medi-Caps University; Shri Ashish Kumar Kanesh, Joint Director, Horticulture, Ujjain; Shri Dayaram Jatav, Joint Director, Horticulture, Indore; Prof. (Dr.) Birajashis Pattnaik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Medi-Caps University; Shri Dhoom Singh Chouhan, Deputy Director, Horticulture; Shri Shiv Singh Rajput, Deputy Director, Agriculture; Mrs. Sharli Thomas, Deputy Director, ATMA; Ms. Sunita Verma, Assistant Director, Agriculture; Shri Ranish Kumar Sharma, Assistant Seed Certification Officer; Dr. R. S. Tailor, Program Coordinator, KVK, Indore; and Dr. R. K. Shukla, Co-Coordinator, TEC, Medi-Caps University.

The meet witnessed participation from eight government officials, 40 progressive farmers, 30 agriculture industry representatives, and academic professionals. Farmers highlighted the challenges they face in agriculture, while government officials discussed various policies, schemes, and support mechanisms available to them. Industry representatives and academia extended their expertise and solutions to address these issues.

Discussions during the event focused on capacity building, skill development programs, industry interaction, funding opportunities, resource requirements, and key areas for growth and development. The session concluded with valuable insights and recommendations from all stakeholders, paving the way for stronger industry-academia collaboration in the agriculture sector.
