74 participants from the Bengaluru region will take part in the regional round of contest
· Aoora will use the ‘All India K-Pop Contest 2024’ stage to announce his new song ‘Thi Thi Thara’
The ‘All India K-pop Contest 2024’ organised by Korean Cultural Centre India in collaboration with LG Electronics India is due to set the stage afire in Bengaluru with K-pop sensation Aoora using the showpiece event to announce his new song ‘Thi Thi Thara’. The performance to be given by Aoora will be part of the opening act of the regional round of the ‘All India K-pop Contest 2024’. The 25-minute performance by the K-pop star will also include songs such as ‘Feel The Power’, ‘Love Is Right’, ‘Jimmy Jimmy’, ‘Dreamers’, and ‘Auva Auva’.
This is the 14th edition of the showpiece event which has over the years become one of the representative projects of the Korean Cultural Centre India. This year, a total of 10,559 registrations from participants across the country were received for the largest K-pop contest that is organised in the country.
The ‘All India K-pop Contest 2024’ is held pan-India over a period of about six months with four rounds; online, regional, semi-finale and grand finale. The online qualifiers round was held from May 17th to June 28th, and in this round K-pop lovers from across the country shared an online video of their performance. This was evaluated based on certain parameters, such as, skill, expression and pronunciation, similarity to the original song, and stage presence of the participants. The selected participants from online preliminaries will showcase their skills in the regional round to be held at 11 cities.
Bengaluru on Saturday will kickstart the regional round with 74 participants showing their exceptional skills in the form of 15 dance and 15 vocal performances. The winner of each of these groups will move onto the semi-final round that is to be held in New Delhi on October 19th, 2024.
From Bengaluru, the regional round caravan will pass through Kohima (July 28th), Kolkata (August 3rd), Itanagar (August 10th), Mumbai (August 10th), Chennai (August 11th), Hyderabad (August 18th), New Delhi (August 18th), Ahmedabad (August 25th), Bhopal (September 1st) and Lucknow (September 1st). More than 300 participants are expected to showcase their talent in the regional rounds that spans across India. The grand finale of ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024 presented by LG’ will be held at the state-of-the-art exhibition and convention centre, ‘Yashobhoomi’, in New Delhi on November 23rd, 2024. The winners of the Grand Finale will get an opportunity to visit Korea.
