Bhairon Prasad Mishra

Bhairon Prasad Mishra is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Banda in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Bhairon is a member of the BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP). In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bhairon Prasad Mishra defeated his nearest rival R.K. Singh Patel of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by a margin of more than 1.10 lakh votes. Throughout his political career, Bhairon Prasad Mishra has remained committed and focused on the development of the entire Bundelkhand region including Banda Parliamentary Constituency. He dedicated his life to the service of the nation at an early age after he was deeply affected by the things that transpired during emergency. Bhairon Prasad Mishra works for the betterment of poor and exploited people and he wants the country to be free from corruption and terror activities.

Early Life and Education

Bhairon Prasad Mishra was born on September 07, 1958 to Shri Raja Bhai Mishra and Smt. Sonia Devi Mishra. He was born in Hanuva, located in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh. He has studied up to Intermediate level and received education at Chitrakoot Inter College, Karwi, and Jamuna Christian College, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He married Chinta Devi on November 10, 1976.

Political Career

  • 1993 – 1995: Member, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly
  • 2008 – 2009: Vice Chairman, Bundelkhand Development Corporation, Uttar Pradesh
  • May, 2014: Elected to 16th Lok Sabha
  • 1 Sep. 2014 onwards: Member, Standing Committee on Human Resource Development; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation
