Bharat Ki Soch and Manav Rachna University Sign Landmark MoU to Harness Indian Knowledge System for Sustainable Development and Journey Towards a Developed Nation

NEW DELHI | JULY 8, 2026 — In a significant step toward aligning classical civilizational wisdom with modern academic and policy frameworks, Bharat Ki Soch (BKS) and the Manav Rachna Centre for Peace & Sustainability (MRCPS), Manav Rachna University, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Bharat Ki Soch office. This research collaboration establishes a strategic partnership to leverage the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) as a foundational framework for sustainable development, civic responsibility, and national progress, aiming directly to support the country’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat. All joint initiatives, academic outputs, and advocacy campaigns will be carried out under the joint branding of Bharat Ki Soch and MRCPS.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Anil Rajput, Chairperson of Bharat Ki Soch, shared a profound vision for the country’s future, emphasizing that true macro-level transformation must begin at the grassroots—with our students and children. He noted that while youth are traditionally viewed as the future of the nation, they also wield a powerful, immediate influence over their parents and society at large, who constitute our present. This unique positioning makes them vital catalysts for a renewed focus on sustainable growth across all dimensions, particularly in personal character-building. In his address, Mr. Rajput urged a fundamental shift in societal perception, advocating for a generation of citizens whose outlook is shaped by what they can contribute to their country, rather than being overly focused on what the country can do for them. Reflecting on the deeper psychological and spiritual dimensions of national development, he concluded that true economic sustainability demands greater resilience and innovation. Ultimately, sustainable growth should not be measured merely by financial earnings, but by the holistic happiness and peace of mind of its people, ensuring that India does not just become an economic superpower, but a genuinely happy nation.

The signing ceremony was attended by a high-level delegation from Manav Rachna University, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Deependra Kumar Jha, alongside Dr. Anandajit Goswami, head of the Centre for Peace & Sustainability. Expressing his strong support for the partnership, Prof. Jha deeply appreciated the vision of Bharat Ki Soch, noting how closely it resonates with the core civilizational ideals of Manav Rachna University. He observed that modern society is currently navigating complex, multi-layered challenges at both the individual and macro levels. To address these pressing issues, Prof. Jha remarked that ancient Indic principles offer powerful, time-tested solutions for the crises today’s youth face and are expected to encounter in the future. He emphasized that it is now imperative to explore these traditional insights, adapt them to contemporary technological transformations, and firmly embed them within modern policy and educational frameworks. Concluding on an action-oriented note, he highlighted that the extensive network of Manav Rachna Schools and University is uniquely poised to lead this mission, with substantial, aggressive efforts already well underway.

To turn this vision into a structural reality, the institutions have outlined a comprehensive framework spanning six key research and engagement areas. Under this collaborative umbrella, dedicated academic teams will combine traditional insights with rigorous modern research to regularly produce working papers, policy briefs, and strategic research papers based on mutually identified themes. The joint initiative is designed to explore the deep intersections of the Indian Knowledge System with contemporary global challenges. This includes a strong focus on human health, holistic well-being, and environmental sustainability, looking at ecological balance and resource conservation through a civilizational lens. The research will also delve deeply into strategic and societal structures, touching upon national security, peace and sustainability, conflict resolution, ethical governance, and the institutionalization of civic responsibility among citizens. Furthermore, the collaboration addresses macroeconomic and foundational growth by exploring indigenous models of conscious capitalism, resilient supply chains, and climate-resilient agricultural systems. Together, these overarching themes aim to systematically bridge ancient wisdom with modern policy to support the country’s journey towards a developed nation.

Through this collaboration, the two institutions aim to raise broad-based awareness and interest in these civilizational ideas by engaging school- and university-level students, alongside their parents, to create a comprehensive and long-lasting societal impact. Beyond high-level academic research that translates into strategic papers and policy briefs, the partnership is uniquely designed around an intensive grassroots outreach strategy. This engagement will be driven through structured school activities, including regular academic competitions and experiential learning initiatives such as student internship projects across the core thematic areas. Furthermore, the collaboration features cultural immersion initiatives, where student delegations will actively participate in landmark events to organically inculcate core values and civic habits. By seamlessly combining academic rigor with youth-led community advocacy, this multi-tiered partnership ensures that ancient civilizational knowledge serves as an active catalyst for modern governance, social discipline, and holistic national development as the country works towards a developed nation.

This landmark alliance ultimately underscores the core conviction of Bharat Ki Soch: that India’s ascent as a global leader is inextricably linked to the revival of its civilizational wisdom. By transforming ancient insights into actionable modern strategies, this partnership aims to nurture a generation of secure, duty-conscious, and value-driven citizens who will anchor the nation’s growth in both material prosperity and holistic well-being.
