BJP Government Increases Haryana Old Age Pension to Rs.3,000

There has been a remarkable increase in the old age pension scheme in the state of Haryana, with beneficiaries now entitled to receive Rs.3,000 each month. The current amount is a significant increase compared to other Indian states. This old age pension scheme was started in the year 1991 with an amount of only Rs.100 and since 2014 it has been significantly increased to the current benefits.

Between the 23 years between 1991 and 2014, the amount of the pension scheme rose from only Rs.100 to Rs.1000 which reflects the gradual growth under the governance of various governments which includes Congress, Haryana Vikas Party, and Indian National Lok Dal. However, under the governance of the BJP government led by the prominent leaders Manohar Lal Khattar and Nayab Singh Saini, the amount of the pension scheme has seen the most dramatic surge. During their government, the old age pension scheme in Haryana was significantly increased from Rs.1,000 to Rs.3,000 within just a decade.

The government led by the Bhartiya Janata Party pledged with the vision of ‘Mhara Haryana Nonstop Haryana’ has not only surged the amount of the pension scheme but has also successfully digitized the whole process. Under this new reform, the elderly of Haryana over the age of 60 years automatically receive Rs.3,000 per month through an online system linked with their family ID.
