British Council to Host Study UK Pre-Departure Briefing for Indian Students

 New Delhi, 23 June 2026 : The British Council invites students from India to join the Study UK Pre-Departure Briefing on Thursday 16 July 2026, from 3.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. (IST). The virtual session is designed exclusively for students who have received a conditional or unconditional offer from a UK higher education institution for the Autumn/Winter 2026 intake.

The briefing will provide students with essential information and guidance to help ensure a smooth transition to life in the UK. Students will gain practical advice on visa applications, accommodation, travel preparations, health and wellbeing, and student life, while also hearing directly from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), British Universities’ International Liaison Association (BUILA), UK alumni and current students.

Key topics that will be covered:

• Prepare for a move to the UK: Students will receive guidance on travel arrangements, packing essentials, budgeting, and adjusting to life in the UK.
• Health, Safety, and Wellbeing: Students will learn about healthcare services, insurance, safety measures, and mental health support available for international students in the UK.
• Visa information and advice by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI): Representatives from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will provide the latest guidance on the student visa application process and answer student queries.
