Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Pays Courtesy Visit to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi, June 24: Earlier today, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang paid a courtesy visit to the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, at the latter’s official residence in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister congratulated Rijiju on his recent appointment as Union Minister and conveyed best wishes for a successful and impactful tenure. Expressing confidence in Mr Rijiju’s leadership, the Chief Minister highlighted the potential for positive changes under his guidance.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister had productive discussions with the Union Minister regarding the prospect of bringing H.H. the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje to Sikkim.

The Union Minister assured his support for upgrading monastic schools and proposed a phased approach to upgrading monasteries. He also committed to releasing funds for ongoing social welfare schemes, including the Singtam hospital.

Chief Minister was accompanied by MP (Lok Sabha) Indra Hang Subba, MP (Rajya Sabha) DT Lepcha, Chief Secretary VB Pathak, and Secretary (Chief Minister’s Office) SD Dhakal.
