Consul General of India Shri Harish Kumar Inaugurates Ladli Foundation Africa in the Presence of Diplomats, Business Leaders and Social Changemakers

In a significant milestone for India’s global humanitarian outreach, the internationally recognised Indian NGO Ladli Foundation formally launched its Africa Chapter, Ladli Foundation Africa, during a prestigious ceremony held at the renowned Country Club Johannesburg, South Africa.

The inauguration was formally conducted by Shri Harish Kumar, Consul General of India in Johannesburg, in the presence of Devendra Kumar, Founder of Ladli Foundation, along with diplomats, distinguished dignitaries, business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and members of the Indian diaspora.

The landmark event was followed by an exclusive Gala Dinner hosted by Team Ladli Foundation Africa, bringing together key stakeholders from diverse sectors to strengthen dialogue around humanitarian cooperation, sustainable development, women’s empowerment, youth leadership, and global social partnerships.

Addressing the gathering, Consul General Shri Harish Kumar appreciated the remarkable contribution of Ladli Foundation towards social development and its efforts in strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties between India and African nations.

In his inaugural address, Founder Devendra Kumar stated that the global expansion of Ladli Foundation is deeply inspired by the ancient Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, the world is one family. He emphasized that the organization remains committed to serving humanity beyond the barriers of religion, region, nationality, or social identity.

 “Ladli Foundation believes in humanity beyond boundaries. Our mission is to stand with the vulnerable and marginalized irrespective of their religion, race, or region. The launch of Ladli Foundation Africa is a step towards creating a compassionate global society based on the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” said Devendra Kumar during his inaugural speech.

Founded in India, Ladli Foundation has emerged as one of the country’s leading humanitarian organizations working extensively in the areas of women empowerment, child welfare, public health, education, mental wellness, sustainable development, and protection of human rights for marginalized communities.

Over the years, the organization has directly impacted more than 3.2 million beneficiaries through its innovative grassroots initiatives, awareness campaigns, policy advocacy, and community-driven development programs across India and other regions. Ladli Foundation also holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for its contribution towards global social development and humanitarian causes.

The establishment of Ladli Foundation Africa marks a new chapter in the organization’s international journey and is expected to strengthen Indo-African collaboration in the fields of social innovation, sustainable community development, youth leadership, healthcare access, gender equality, and humanitarian action.

The inauguration ceremony and Gala Dinner were uniquely conceptualized and hosted by the leadership team of Ladli Foundation Africa under the guidance of Executive Director Mr. Shameem Baksh, along with Director Ms. Marsha Piaray and Ms. Komla Naidoo, who played a significant role in engaging community leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and social stakeholders towards the humanitarian cause and vision of the organization.

The evening concluded with a collective commitment towards building a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future through global partnerships and citizen-led social transformation.
