Chennai, June 2023: Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Chennai, in collaboration with P.S. Senior Secondary School, hosted the inaugural event for the twelfth batch of its GLPSS Management & Entrepreneurship program. The extensive program aims to equip the students with the fundamentals of management education, through an interactive pedagogy of theoretical and experiential learning.
The mission of the GLPSS Management & Entrepreneurship program is grounded in these ideas, as it aims to build up (and develop on) a strong foundation of the fundamentals of management skills in school students, educating the next generation to be competent and successful managers and leaders.
The program aims to do this with a hundred hours of learning spread over twelve months. The core curriculum is designed over three aspects – capstone, functional and foundational – and will include courses such as Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Capital Markets, and Business Communication (all taught by leading faculty in the field). It will also include field visits to corporate establishments, guest lectures by management gurus and industry leaders, and focused activities under the entrepreneurship forum to stretch skills of time management and prioritization. The students will also have a transformational three-day residency at the Great Lakes campus.
The program was inaugurated by Swaminathan Gurumurthy – one of the Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Chartered Accountant and Editor of a Tamil weekly Magazine, ‘Thuglak’.
Great Lakes, Chennai, Dean, Dr. Suresh Ramanathan said, “It is a matter of immense pleasure for me to be part of the inauguration of the 12th batch of the GLPSS Program on Management & Entrepreneurship. This is the best time to inculcate the fundamental values, principles and ethics that are cornerstones of our ethos and upon which skills of Management and Entrepreneurship could be nurtured. I am delighted that we are able to partner with PSS school on this initiative and make a useful contribution to the future of India. I wish all the students a fantastic learning experience and I sincerely hope that they are able to derive maximum benefit from this excellent program.”
