- ‘Idea to Impact’ Grand Finale brought students from 15 states to build projects for public infrastructure, judicial services, software development, healthcare etc.
Hyderabad, 04 August 2026: Students from across India developed AI-powered solutions for public infrastructure, judicial services, software development, healthcare, agriculture, and more at the “Idea to Impact” Grand Finale in Hyderabad. Over 250+ students from 15+ states built 90 Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) with AI as the core component.
The offline hackathon was hosted by NxtWave, India’s fastest-growing AI upskilling platform, as the grand finale of its online hackathon, which commenced on 10th July for students learning AI and ML through NxtWave’s online mentorship and upskilling program. The Grand Finale took place on at Kapil Kavuri Hub in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, bringing together students from – Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and Maharashtra. Built around the theme “AI as a Core Component,” the hackathon challenged students to develop AI-driven applications that address pressing societal and industry needs.
A cohort of 18–19-year-old students developed AI solutions during an intense 24-hour hackathon using more than 80+ AI tech stack and AI models like React, Python, FastAPI, Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, IBM-NASA Prithvi-100M, Llama 3.3 70B, Claude, LangChain, and Hugging Face. The projects were built around themes of Smart Automation, Open Innovation, AI for Industry & Public Impact in sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, and governance, Smart City, Logistics & Urban Mobility for improving transportation and urban infrastructure.
NalaWatch, an AI-powered urban flood intelligence platform, secured the first prize for its ability to predict waterlogging and drain overflows in real time, enabling early warnings and faster disaster response. Project DNA, an AI-powered knowledge management platform, won the second prize for creating a digital knowledge twin that helps development teams quickly access project knowledge, accelerate onboarding, and improve collaboration. NyayaPriority, an AI-driven judicial case prioritization platform, claimed the third prize for helping courts schedule urgent cases more efficiently and improve access to timely justice. The winning teams competed for a cumulative prize pool of ₹1 lakh. Every participant also received an official NxtWave Academy Hackathon Certificate in recognition of their participation.

During the hackathon, students also developed AI-powered solutions tackling real-world challenges in healthcare, agriculture, supply chain automation, inventory management, and software development. Some of the other standout projects included ChainCommand AI, an AI-powered supply chain assistant for inventory and contract management; AgriNova AI, an AI farming assistant providing crop guidance through text, voice, and images; ShelfWise AI, an AI-powered inventory intelligence platform that predicts expiry risks and optimizes stock management; DischargeCare AI, an AI assistant that simplifies hospital discharge summaries into easy-to-understand recovery plans; and ProjectPilot AI, an AI-powered innovation platform that transforms project ideas into implementation-ready plans with curated technical resources and development guidance.
Beyond a competition, the hackathon was an opportunity for students to network with fellow builders, mentors, and industry experts from across India. NxtWave Academy’s first-ever offline hackathon marks another step in nurturing India’s next generation of AI innovators by providing a platform where learning extends beyond classrooms into solving meaningful, real-world challenges.
