Orofacial Pain Management – Latest Episode In The ICPA Clinical Series Delves Into The Various Aspects Of Orofacial Pain & Common Mistakes Made In Diagnosis

Mumbai, March 09: India’s leading Pharma Company in the oral healthcare segment – ICPA Health Products Ltd (ICPA) hosted its latest episode on the subject of Orofacial Pain Management – An Integral Part of Modern Dental Practice. The 22nd episode featured the foremost authority in Orofacial pain management in the country – Dr Ruchika Sood, MDS (Orofacial pain). Orofacial pain being one of the most ignored aspects in dentistry, Dr Sood stressed on the importance of making correct diagnosis in order to provide the right treatment and relief. Dr Sood explained how temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a huge burden, second only to low back pain in musculoskeletal problems.

Dr Ruchika Sood informed the participants about the common orofacial pain conditions including the TMD, facial migraine and disorders of trigeminal, facial and glossopharyngeal nerves. She educated the participants on chronic pain being a disease and the reason why its clinical management should begin with thorough understanding of pain producing entities and pain mechanisms. Dr Sood stressed on the importance of listening to the patient as almost all orofacial pain conditions can be diagnosed with proper case history.
