Platform 65 takes a step towards a cleaner environment with a beach-cleaning drive

Vizag, 19th April 2023: The Earth is what keeps us alive, and how well we care for it determines the quality of our existence. It only takes one person to effect a small but significant change on the planet. On this Earth Day, Platform65 took a pledge of cleaning Vizag Beach with its team and local citizens of Vizag

With the world speeding towards consumerism, it is unsurprising that waste generation has increased exponentially. Products nowadays are packaged in non-biodegradable packaging, with plastic bags taking approximately 1,000 years to degrade. As a result, littered bags, bottles, wrappers, and other items in public places pose a serious threat to the environment.

Beaches are not only wonderful vacation spots and natural escapes from our hectic lives. They are also part of a diverse marine ecosystem that must be preserved and protected. To address these issues, Platform 65 team has taken an initiative of a Beach cleaning drive.

The campaign initiative aims to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting our planet’s natural resources. Because they are aware of the effects that plastic trash and other pollutants can have on our seas and marine life, Platform 65 with a team of 15 members is taking action to help make a difference. The beach cleaning initiative happened in Ramakrishna Beach starting at 7 am and went on till 12 pm.

Sadgun Patha, Managing Director and Founder of Platform 65 said, “We’re pleased to host this beach cleaning event in honor of Earth Day, after cleaning the beach with our team and the community it’s like providing medicine to nature, because of what humanity has done to the environment. Cleaning the beach also improves the coastal and the ecosystem of marine life and we are also trying to make awareness to the community to safeguard the beaches”.
