PMAY housing scheme for rural and urban areas strengthen the economy of the country, says Gaurav Mavi, Co- founder of BOP Group

New Delhi: The Pradhan Mantri Aavas Yojana is definitely an ambitious initiative by the Government of India. Aimed at achieving the goal of ‘Housing For All’, it is definitely a huge step forward when it comes to the affordable housing segment. Government’s continued emphasis on rural & urban areas is expected to do wonders to the quality of life that people live through.

Affordable housing doesn’t just help in getting a home to live in. Rather, it boosts the living standards of masses, creates job and income opportunities and thus, helps in creating a positive impact on the whole ecosystem, comprising millions of individuals. The Union Ministry’s decision to provide assistance for the construction of three crore additional rural and urban houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a progressive step that aligns with the Government’s plan to provide a culture that is inclusive of people from all classes.

With Hon’ble PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi and his cabinet coming up with new reforms, it would be interesting to observe and witness the strategies that unfold, and how the real estate sector is poised to grow extensively despite all the hurdles and roadblocks. More than 4.21 crore houses have been built already under the scheme, and with continued emphasis on the same — more residential homes and apartments can be built for the masses. Affordable housing schemes are imperative for the growth of the Indian economy as individuals who have access to a house of their own, can then devote their time for business, growth and service to the society.
